NAU Men's Cross Country No. 2 Again

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The USTFCCCA released its weekly national rankings today. Northern Arizona University's men's cross country team return to a No. 2 ranking after sitting at No. 3 for the past two weeks.

The Lumberjack's No. 2 ranking comes after winning the championship at the Adidas Wisconsin Invitational in convincing fashion this past weekend. NAU defeated the likes of No. 5 BYU, No. 6 Portland, No. 9 New Mexico and No. 10 Colombia. NAU received five first-place votes in this week's poll, just one vote short of No. 1 Colorado.

Colorado, previously No. 2, is now ranked No. 1 in the country after an impressive showing at the NCAA Pre-Nationals meet this past weekend. Defending national  champion, Oklahoma State has dropped to No. 3 after five consecutive weeks at the number one spot.

The Lumberjacks will compete next at the Big Sky Conference Championships in Bozeman, Mont. NAU was picked unanimously to repeat as Big Sky Conference champions in the coaches' preseason poll.
