Lumberjacks Stand Firm in USTFCCCA Rankings
NEW ORLEANS, La. – After
debuting at number five in the preseason U.S. Track & Field and
Cross Country Coaches Association poll, the Northern Arizona
men’s cross country team stayed in the same spot as the week
one national polls came out Tuesday afternoon.
Ahead of the Lumberjacks in the national rankings is Oregon at the
top spot followed by Oklahoma State, Stanford and Wisconsin.
The women’s team also debuted in the same position in the
week one polls, at number 16.
In the regional rankings that came out Monday afternoon, the women
maintained the top spot in the Mountain Region followed by
Colorado, New Mexico, BYU and Texas Tech. The men’s squad
also held onto their number two ranking in the region behind
Colorado.
This weekend, the Lumberjacks are scheduled to take part in two
meets. Half of the team will be heading down to Tempe to take
part in the ASU Invitational on Friday, as the other half heads to
Stillwater, Okla., to take part in the Cowboy Jamboree hosted by
Oklahoma State on Saturday.
