Seven Runners Earn Big Sky All-Academic Honors
OGDEN, Utah- Seven Lumberjacks have
been named to the Big Sky Conference 2008 Fall All-Academic Team.
Requirements include competing in at least half of the team’s
competitions, achieving a 3.2 grade point average or better, and
completing at least one academic term at the current Big Sky
institution.
The men’s team who finished sixth at the NCAA Championships
in November placed three student-athletes on the team. The women,
who were 25th in the nation had four All-Academic team members.
Big Sky and Mountain Region Champion, David McNeill, adds this
academic honor to his All-American junior year. He is joined on the
conference squad by senior Morten Bostrom, who finished fifth at
the Big Sky meet, and junior Jason Pedersen, who took 14th.
Veronica Pohl, 2008 Big Sky individual champion and NCAA
All-American, made the conference squad in her first semester at
NAU. Senior Addie Devine and freshmen Kortnee Burton and Vanessa
Hancock contributed to the Lumberjacks’ Big Sky championship,
while maintaining academic honors.
