Volleyball Opens Big Sky Home Schedule this Weekend

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona volleyball hosts Sacramento State in the Lumberjacks' first home conference match of the season on Saturday, September 25 at 7 p.m. at the Rolle Activity Center.  Saturday is the only match this week for the Lumberjacks.

NAU (5-7, 1-1 BSC) turned in a 1-1 record during the Big Sky's opening weekend of conference play.  The Lumberjacks opened the regular season at Idaho State with a 3-1 defeat but evened its record in the conference with a 3-1 win at Weber State.

Sacramento State (7-10, 0-1 BSC) lost in its conference opener at Northern Colorado on Thursday after opening the season 7-9 in non-conference play.  The Hornets are 2-3 this season in away matches while NAU holds a perfect 3-0 record in Flagstaff.

"We opened up on the road last week and had a decent weekend playing two tough teams," said head coach Craig Choate.  "This week we have just one match and Sacramento State will be playing the back half of its weekend schedule.  We hope to have a good crowd and play a tough match."

The Lumberjacks are currently in a four way tie for third place in the league standings while Sacramento State sits in a three way tie for seventh place.
