Volleyball Team Earns Seven All-Academic Selections
OGDEN, Utah – The Northern
Arizona women’s volleyball team landed seven student-athletes
on the Big Sky Conference’s All-Academic team. The
Lumberjacks finished tied for third with Portland State with the
most selections in the conference.
The women improved upon its six selections from 2008 and also
finished third among NAU’s 15 varsity sports in the fall.
Eleven of the 14 student-athletes on the volleyball team turned in
grade-point-averages (GPA) over 3.0.
The Lumberjacks had six players post GPA’s of 3.5 or higher
and two players, Ashley Ames and Lauren Campbell, turned in a GPA
of 4.0.
To be eligible for All-Academic consideration, student athletes
must participate in at least half of the team’s competitions
and achieve a 3.2 GPA at the conclusion of the most recently
completed academic term.
