LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Northern Arizona women's tennis team concluded Day 3 of the UNLV Fall Invite on Sunday with one singles win, courtesy of junior Ghizelene Doballah defeat of Florida Gulf Coast's Zhoe Slaun, 6-4, 6-4. Doballah's win was her second of the tournament as the Lumberjacks had six singles victories in the three day tournament.
On Saturday, Doballah and fellow junior Nicole Perez both advanced to the Flight Four singles finals, but the match was not played today due to both players being from the same team. Instead additional singles matches were added with Perez and freshman Johanna Vang dropping their matches. Junior Alice Pacaut fell to Anett Ferenczi-Bako of UNLV by a score of 6-2, 6-2 in the consolation final of her flight.
The teams of Vang and Doballah and Perez and Pacaut also both dropped their respective doubles matches on the tourney's final days.
The Lumberjacks leave Las Vegas with a 6-5 singles record, with Doballah, Perez and Vang each grabbing two singles wins each, and a 1-3 doubles record. Vang and Doballah paired up for the lone doubles win on Saturday.
The women have this week off from competition before resuming their fall schedule at the Gaucho Classic in Santa Barbara, Calif. from October 7-9.
