Women’s Tennis Adds Three Wins to Close Play in Albuquerque
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Northern Arizona picked up three singles wins on the final day of weekend play at the University of New Mexico Fall Invitational. The Lumberjacks will play in one more tournament to complete their Fall season in two weeks in Irvine, Calif.
On their final day playing in a tough field at New Mexico, sophomore Alice Walker paced the Lumberjacks with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Davida Aragon of Western New Mexico. Senior Yumi Hasegawa battled UTEP's Rebeca Calvillo, claiming a three-set win with scores of 6-4, 0-6, 6-4. Sophomore Malia Wahinepio also claimed a singles win over Lindsay Tristan of Texas Tech, winning the first set 6-3 before her opponent retired.
Beginning November 19, Northern Arizona will close its fall schedule competing in the UC Irvine Fall Invitational in southern California.
