Women’s Tennis Appears in Latest ITA Rankings

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona junior Orsi Golovics and freshman Malia Wahinpeio are ranked in the January 5th ITA DI Women’s National Doubles rankings, while the pair is also ranked in the Mountain region and Golovics is ranked in singles as the Lumberjacks prepare for the start of their Spring season.

After posting a 10-2 record during the fall season, the pair of Golovics and Wahinepio received a No. 35 national doubles ranking. The duo are the only Big Sky players to appear in the national doubles rankings, and are ranked as the No. 5 doubles team in the Mountain region.

Additionally, Golovics is ranked No. 19 in the Mountain region singles rankings. She went 7-7 against premiere opponents during the Fall and projects as the Lumberjacks No. 1 singles player during the Spring season.

The Lumberjacks open team play on January 24th when they face UC Santa Barbara in Tempe at 11 a.m.
