Women's Tennis Suffers Second Big Sky Loss

BOZEMAN, Mont. – Northern Arizona women’s tennis dropped its second conference match of the season with a 5-2 defeat versus Montana State on Friday. The Lumberjacks slip to 9-9 overall and 4-2 in the Big Sky Conference.

The women dropped the doubles point 2-1 with Leslie Vial and Kim Van Ginkel earning the lone victory for the Lumberjacks. The pair defeated Montana State’s Andrea De La Torre and Ali Griffin (8-4).

Vial also picked up one of two wins for NAU in singles play. The senior from Boulogne-Billancourt, France, defeated Griffin (6-4, 6-1) at the No. 4 position. Yumi Hasegawa topped De La Torre at No. 6 (6-3, 6-3) for NAU’s final point of the day.

The Lumberjacks will be back on the hardcourt on Saturday against Montana in their final regular season match.
