DENVER, Colo. – The Northern Arizona swimming & diving team placed 10 student-athletes on the 2017 Western Athletic Conference Winter All-Academic team as announced by the WAC on Thursday. Seniors Alexa Geiger and Sara Lenhoff highlighted NAU's honorees as they each received their fourth award in as many years.

Student-athletes are honored by the WAC by carrying at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average. They must have also participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests and have completed at least one full academic year at their institution. The Lumberjacks' freshmen and transfers will be eligible for the award at the conclusion of the semester.

The four-time defending WAC champions were named a Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming Association of American in January after recording a team semester GPA in the fall of 3.41.
