Lumberjack Trio Named to Academic All-WAC Team

DENVER, Colo. – Alexa Geiger, Sara Lenhoff and Jori Lindquist each garnered WAC All-Academic honors on Monday to give the Lumberjacks 22 All-Academic performers for the year. In April, the Northern Arizona swimming & diving team placed 19 student-athletes on the Winter All-Academic team, which led all WAC winter teams. The trio needed to complete a full academic year at NAU before becoming eligible.

Lenhoff finished her freshman year with a perfect 4.00 GPA in biomedical science. She was an All-WAC performer at the WAC Championships in both backstroke events, earning the bronze medal in the 100 back and finishing fourth in the 200 back. Geiger posted a 3.69 GPA in special and elementary education and was a standout on NAU's diving team, placing in the top-eight on all three boards at the conference meet highlighted by a fourth-place finish on 3-meter. Lindquist capped her first year with a 3.27 GPA in health sciences – public health and recorded a best finish of 10th at the WAC Championships in the 100 backstroke.

To be eligible for WAC All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year at their respective institution, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and participate in at least 50 percent of the team's contest.
