FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona swimming & diving team was once again recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their outstanding work in the classroom as they were named a CSCAA Scholar All-American Team for the 2013 fall semester. The Lumberjacks posted a team GPA of 3.36 for the semester.
"We're very proud of our girls' accomplishments in the classroom," said head coach Andy Johns. "They take pride in doing well in school and I'm proud that we were recognized by College Swimming Coaches Association for our academic success. It's a nice honor and it's a tribute to our girls for the way they approach being student-athletes."
The Team Scholar All-American award is presented to teams who achieve a team GPA of at least 3.00.
As a team, the Lumberjacks have a cumulative GPA of 3.57. For the fall semester, six of their student-athletes recorded a perfect 4.00 grade point average. In total, 18 student-athletes posted a fall GPA of 3.50 or higher. Overall, 27 of the team's 29 student-athletes own a grade point average of at least 3.00.
