DENVER, Colo. – For the second time in as many meets this season and the seventh time over the last two seasons NAU senior diver Kristy Ardavanis has been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) diver of the week. The Gilbert, Ariz. native won both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions to lead NAU to a dual win over Northern Colorado on Saturday.
Ardavanis opened competition against the Bears with a winning total of 308.25 on 3-meter to win the board by more than 25 points. She then won 1-meter by more than 32 points with a score of 290.78. Ardavanis has qualified for the 2013 NCAA Zone diving meet on both boards and has posted the top NAU scores on both boards in both NAU meets this season.
A three-time All-WAC first team honoree, Ardavanis also has the top 1-meter and 3-meter scores in the WAC this season. She and her teammates will be back in action this weekend with duals at Washington State on Friday and Idaho on Saturday. Additionally, fans can watch Ardavanis and the NAU divers compete in encore presentations of the NAU Blue-Gold diving competition on FOX Sports Arizona on Thursday at 11 p.m. and Friday at 3:30 p.m.
