Five Lumberjacks Advance to Finals at WAC Championships on Thursday
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – NAU
swimming and diving will have five swimmers in the finals on
Thursday night after the preliminary swims this morning at the WAC
Championships in the Josh Davis Natatorium. The
Lumberjacks entered day two with a 19-point lead over San Jose
State.
Three event prelims were held Thursday morning beginning with the
500-yard freestyle. Senior Kimber Morelli finished in 12th place
with a time of 5:02.52 and sophomore Kristin Jones placed 15th with
a time of 5:04.72. Both swimmers will swim in the second heat with
the finals beginning at 5:30 (MST).
Freshman Fi Connell will swim in the final heat after a prelim
time of 2:05.05 in the 200-yard individual medley.
In the 50-yard freestyle, two Lumberjacks qualified for the finals
with senior Rachael Foe posting a time of 24.10 and junior Meredith
Egloria finishing in 24.13. Both swimmers will race in the first
heat this evening.
