Diving Team in Action at Air Force Invitational
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona diving team will participate in the Air Force Diving Invitational this weekend in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Lumberjacks are set to begin competition at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 29 and start at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 30.
Friday's competition will consist of the men's 3-meter springboard, slated to begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by the women's 1-meter springboard, which will start at 4:00 p.m.
On Saturday, the men's 1-meter springboard will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the women's 3-meter springboard at 10:30 a.m. Competition concludes with the men's and women's combined platform, scheduled to start at 1:30 Saturday afternoon.
The event will feature a talented
field with seven schools entering divers including five Mountain
West Conference members and Northern Colorado out of the Big Sky
Conference.
The NAU diving team has enjoyed a strong season and holds the top
scores in the Western Athletic Conference in the 1-meter and
3-meter. Junior Lana Christensen has turned in the best mark on the
1-meter, 302.25, while junior Tayrn Harris is tops on the 3-meter,
350.48, which was also a NAU record.
The Lumberjacks will take part in competition this weekend then
rejoin the swimming team in a double dual to close the regular
season. NAU will face San Diego and San Diego State in San Diego,
Calif., on Friday, February 5.
