OGDEN, Utah – Northern Arizona University women's soccer player Adrian Nixt picked up her first career Offensive Big Sky Player of the Week honor the conference office announced today, Oct. 18. The junior forward scored three goals in NAU's unbeaten homecoming weekend finishing in a tie versus Montana and taking down the now second place Eastern Washington University Eagles.
Nixt finished with three goals on four total shots in two games. On Friday (Oct. 14), Nixt scored the Lumberjacks' first goal of the game off a header from Heather Donais' corner kick in the 86thminute. Carly Gamble tapped in another Donais corner kick in the 89th to help NAU earn a 2-2 tie with Montana.
The Portland, Ore. native followed up with another strong performance against EWU on Saturday (Oct. 16) in Flagstaff. Nixt and Donais linked up in the 23rd minute for the Lumberjacks' first goal of the game against the Eagles. She struck again in the waning minutes of the game when she knocked in her eighth goal of the season in the 89thminute.
Northern Arizona now sits in a tie for fifth in the conference standings with just three games left in the regular season. PSU trails the Lumberjacks by one point as both teams make a push for the Big Sky Conference championship.
