It marked the 12th semester out of the last 13 overall that the Lumberjack student-athletes have recorded a 3.00 cumulative GPA or higher.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – On Friday, April 9, members of the Northern Arizona women’s soccer team volunteered their time in helping organize and run a track and field meet for Northern Arizona Special Olympics held at Flagstaff High. The event was organized by former NAU women’s basketball player Anna (Sturing) Turco, the Regional Coordinator of Northern Arizona Special Olympics, and former NAU soccer player and current assistant coach Holly Jones.

Women's Soccer Signs Seven for Run Towards Third-Straight Title
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The two-time defending Big Sky Champion Northern Arizona women’s soccer team has inked seven players to national letters of intent, 10th year head coach Andre Luciano has announced. The incoming freshman will help offset the loss of five seniors from the 2009 squad and join a veteran team that is expected to return 10 seniors in 2010. The Lumberjacks have won consecutive Big Sky Championships and advanced to the NCAA College Cup two years in a row.

Women’s Soccer, Club Teams Take to Shoveling South Fields
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Members of the Northern Arizona women’s soccer team partnered with the NAU club sports teams on Tuesday to begin shoveling some of the feet of snow covering the south intramural fields on the Northern Arizona campus. Though the wide and deep fields of snow proved a dubious task to trek through, the athletes did their part to start the process of uncovering the fields for use in the spring.

TEMPE, Ariz. – On a scorching, 103 degree afternoon in the desert, Arizona State junior forward Karin Volpe tallied two goals and two assists and the Sun Devils allowed only one Northern Arizona shot on a goal in a 4-0 victory. The loss ended NAU’s four-game winning streak, dropping the Lumberjacks to 5-5-1, while Arizona State improved to 7-1-2.
