WOLCOTT, Colo. – After the final day of competition Northern Arizona University's golf team finished 14th at the Golfweek Conference Challenge.
The Lumberjacks struggled as a team during the first two days of competition finishing 18th after both days. The team's play improved dramatically on the final day of competition.
"The team competed very well from the get go, they got into a good groove and it was a good way to end the tournament," said head coach Brad Bedortha. "Savana and Kaitlen both played pretty well and I am confident that they will help lead our team."
The Lumberjacks were lead by junior Brittany McKee who shot a 73 on the day.
"It was great to see Brittany bounce back they way that she did, she is a very good player and is a great addition to our team," said Bedortha.
NAU's golf team also got solid performances from Kaitlen Parsons and Savana Bezdicek, who shot a 75 and 77, respectively. Laura Jabczenski and JoAnn Sottile also contributed as Jabczenski shot an 82 and Sottile shot a 99 on the final day of competition.
The Lumberjacks will compete at the Oral Roberts Shootout on Monday September 30th.
