Women's Golfers Participate in Women's Am Qualifier
PHOENIX, Ariz. - Incoming freshman Aleah Kim led a group four NAU women's golfers competing at a 2009 U.S. Women's Amateur Championships qualifier at Alta Mesa County Club on Thursday, July 16.
Kim finished tied for seventh and won a playoff to claim the second alternate spot with a two-over par 74. Junior-to-be Bethany Leclair was one stroke back with a three-over par 75 in a tie for 10th overall. Teammate Alexa Kim shot a 78, while incoming freshman Stephanie Kim carded an 80.
The top five players in the field advanced to the Amateur led by Tiger Woods' niece Cheyenne Woods, who recorded a four-under par 68.
