Golfer Buck Earns Big Sky Honor

Buck has been selected as the Big Sky Conference Golfer of the
Week after tying for 32nd at the Price’s Give ‘Em Five
Intercollegiate in Las Cruses, N.M.
Buck, a senior from Glendale, Ariz., finished with a 54-hole total
of 226, 10-over-par. Buck opened with back-to-back 76s and closed
with a 74. She helped Northern Arizona to a 15th-place finish in
the 18-team tournament.
Idaho won the event with an 871. Northern Arizona finished with a
920 (308-309-303). Portland State was 17th at 933. Freshman Britney
Yada led Portland State, tying for 41st with a 288 (78-74-76).
San Diego State’s Christine Wong cruised to medalist honors
with a 10-under-par 206.
The tournament was played Monday-Wednesday at the New Mexico State
Golf course.
Around the Big Sky
Montana and Idaho State were the only other Big Sky teams in action
this week. Montana tied for eighth in the 15-team Xavier
Invitational held at the LPGA Legends Course in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Freshman Olivia Weber tied for 29th with a 54-hole score of 230
(73-77-80). Montana shot rounds of 207, 313, 313 for a 933. Idaho
State finished sixth at the San Diego State Aztec Fall Classic. The
Bengals shot scores of 339, 342 for a 681. Kylie Smith tied for
25th with a 167 (83-84). The tourney was played at the Salt Creek
Golf Course in Chula Vista, Calif.
