Lumberjacks Return Home Saturday to Host Fort Lewis College
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - After a loss at UT Arlington on Wednesday, the Northern Arizona women's basketball team (2-3) will return to the friendly confines of their own home this Thanksgiving weekend and will look to feast on Fort Lewis College, this Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Rolle Activity Center. The game will be the Lumberjacks' final in the Rolle this season before moving into the Walkup Skydome for next Wednesday's home matchup against Loyola Marymount.

ARLINGTON, Texas – Turnovers and fouls plagued the Northern Arizona women's basketball team on Wednesday night, leading to a halftime deficit and an eventual 80-62 loss to UT Arlington as their record dropped to 2-3.

Women's Basketball Makes Quick Trip to UTA on Wednesday
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The Northern Arizona women's basketball team looks to make it two in a row on Wednesday when they travel to UT Arlington for a 6 p.m. tip-off at UTA's College Park Center. The Lumberjacks are coming off a 67-49 victory on Sunday at home versus UC Santa Barbara and they defeated UT Arlington last season at home, 85-65.

Women's Hoops Never Trail in 67-49 Win over UCSB
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona women's basketball team jumped out to a 7-0 lead on Sunday and never looked back, defeating UC Santa Barbara, 67-49, for the second straight year to even their season record to 2-2. The Lumberjacks never trailed in the game and shot a season-best 44.9 percent from the field and 95.2 percent from the free-throw line in an efficient team performance on both ends of the court.

Women's Basketball Defeated by UTEP, 82-58
EL PASO, Texas – The Northern Arizona women's basketball team stuck with UTEP in the second half, but a 22-point halftime deficit was too much for the Lumberjacks to overcome in an 82-58 loss to the Miners in the Don Haskins Center. Sophomore Rene Coggins led the Lumberjacks with a career-best 22 points as NAU fell to 1-2 this season.

Women's Hoops Travels to UTEP, Host UCSB This Week
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - After two games at home, the Northern Arizona women's basketball team will head out on the road for a quick road trip - its first of the season - on Wednesday at UTEP with tip-off at 7 p.m. The Lumberjacks will then return home for their fourth game in nine days to begin the season on Sunday, Nov. 23 versus UC Santa Barbara at 2 p.m.

Women's Basketball Falls Short to Western New Mexico, 58-54
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Senior Raven Anderson was a force inside finishing with 22 points, two points shy of her career-high, but the Northern Arizona women's basketball team was unable to complete an undefeated opening weekend, falling to Western New Mexico 58-54 on Sunday.

NAU's Dominating Defensive Effort Leads to Season Opening Win
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona women’s basketball team clamped down defensively and shut down UC Irvine on their way to a 66-35 season opening victory Friday night in the Rolle Activity Center. The Lumberjacks, who allowed 79.3 points per game a year ago, held the Anteaters to just 21.3 percent shooting to open the season 1-0 for the first time since 2007 after six consecutive season opening defeats.

Women's Hoops Net Colorado Pair on Signing Day for 2015-16
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona women's team reached out to the state of Colorado for their two newest Lumberjacks as head coach Sue Darling and her staff received National Letters of Intent from Alyssa Rader and Kaleigh Paplow on Wednesday. Both Rader and Paplow will be freshmen when they join the 'Jacks for the 2015-16 season.

Lumberjacks Go Coast-to-Coast in 84-53 Exhibition Win
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona women's basketball team led wire-to-wire in an all-around sharp performance Monday night, defeating New Mexico Highlands, 84-53, in their lone exhibition game before officially starting the 2014-15 season. Senior Erikka Banks led four Lumberjacks in double-figures with 17 points in just 20 minutes of action.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Madi Austin brings National Championship experience to the Lumberjacks this season after helping Mesa Community College win the NJCAA Division II National Championship. Last season, Austin was the Thunderbirds’ second-leading scorer at 14.0 points and led the team in rebounds with 6.9 per game on her way to receiving NJCAA Division II Second Team All-American honors. She was also a two-time All-Region, All-Conference and National Championship All-Tournament selection prior to coming to NAU. Timeout with Erikka Banks
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Erikka Banks was one of the Big Sky’s top players last year as she enjoyed a breakout campaign in her first season as a starter. She earned All-Big Sky honorable mention honors and is a preseason all-conference selection by College Sports Madness heading into her final season. Banks averaged 13.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game last season and was one of four players in the conference to rank in the top-10 in scoring and rebounding while setting a new school record by shooting 59 percent from the field. NAU Athletics Posts 85 Percent Graduation Success Rate
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Northern Arizona Athletics Department posted a school-best 85 percent Graduation Success Rate, as released by the NCAA national office Tuesday. It was the highest of the three state universities, and tied for the best in the Big Sky Conference.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Taylor Leyva may not have put up numbers that showed in the box score last season, but she was one of the Lumberjacks’ most important players playing in all 29 games and earning 17 starts as a true freshman. Averaging just 0.9 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game, Leyva was the team’s glue-player providing steady play and making the right decisions recording more assists than turnovers. A total of 134 student-athletes participated in Red Ribbon Week visiting local schools, speaking with Flagstaff’s youth and interacting with them in athletic activities.

She knocked down 32 three-pointers, second-most on the team, and recorded 70 assists, third-most on the team with averages of 7.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists. Big Sky Women's Basketball Polls Released
OGDEN, Utah – In the Big Sky preseason polls released on Wednesday by the conference office, the Northern Arizona women’s basketball team was picked 10th by the conference coaches and media. The Lumberjacks received 37 points in the coaches poll and 39 points in the media poll.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Raven Anderson begins her final season as one of the Lumberjacks’ two seniors on this year’s roster. She was the team’s fourth leading scorer at 9.9 points and third-leading rebounder at 5.4 rebounds per game last season while also averaging 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. She shot 54 percent from the field which ranked third in the Big Sky and was the fifth-best single season field goal percentage in school history, and finished the season on a tear averaging 16.8 points, 10.6 rebounds while shooting 64.7 percent over her last five games. FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – After a summer complete with hard work in the weight room and the hard wood, the Northern Arizona women's basketball team will put it all together for the first time on Sunday with their first official practice. Women's Basketball Releases Challenging 2014-15 Schedule
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona head women’s basketball coach Sue Darling announced her team’s 2014-15 schedule on Tuesday, filled with 16 home dates beginning with their season opener versus UC Irvine on Friday, Nov. 14. The 16 home games is the team’s most in a season in five years. Game times for this year’s home schedule will be available at a later date.

NAU Assistant Participates in WBCA Leadership Workshop
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – One of a coach's many duties is to lead and last week, NAU assistant women's basketball coach Robyne Bostick had the unique opportunity to learn from a few people who know a thing or two about leadership – the United States Marine Corps. Bostick traveled to Parris Island, S.C. last week for the inaugural WBCA Assistant Coaches Leadership Workshop in partnership with the United States Marine Corps and came back to Flagstaff with valuable knowledge.

NAU Student-Athletes Welcome Incoming Lumberjack Freshmen
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Nearly 200 Northern Arizona student-athletes helped greet the incoming NAU Class of 2018 over the last two days in partnership with Welcome Back Jacks. The student-athletes along with a number of student groups at times battled the rainy Flagstaff weather and volunteered to assist the new freshmen and their families move into their new home for the upcoming school year.

Where Are They Now: Kim Winkfield
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Kim Winkfield spent her Lumberjack career dishing out dimes. NAU's all-time leader in assists at the end of her career, Winkfield's court sense helped her tremendously in setting up her teammates for easy buckets. Given her ability to assist, maybe it is no coincidence that today Winkfield is working in customer service, trading in the basketball court for the trade show industry.

Amanda Frost Headed to Puerto Rico to Begin Pro Career
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – A lifetime of hard work and dedication to her craft will finally pay off for Amanda Frost as the former Lumberjack All-American's dream of becoming a professional basketball player is right in front of her. Last week, Frost agreed to play for Gigantes de Carolina in Puerto Rico to start her professional career and will immediately begin with the team next month.

Where Are They Now: Julie Hanks
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – It is no question that Julie Hanks left her mark at NAU during her playing career. An NAU Hall of Famer, Hanks left as the program's all-time leading scorer in 1986 and is undoubtedly one of the most accomplished players in school history. Yet as exceptional as she was on the hardwood in the mid-1980s, Hanks remains as dedicated as ever to the game nearly 30 years later.
