NAU Men Win Second Consecutive Big Sky All-Sports Trophy
OGDEN, Utah – Northern Arizona men have captured their second consecutive Big Sky All-Sports Trophy, the conference office announced Tuesday. The Lumberjacks went into the outdoor track championship with the lead, and maintained it after a tie for first place capturing their fourth straight outdoor title.

NAU Athletics Celebrates 42 Student-Athlete Graduates This Weekend
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – In total, 42 Northern Arizona University student-athletes will receive their degrees from the university this weekend during the Spring 2015 commencement ceremonies held on campus yesterday and today. Including the 21 student-athletes who participated in the Fall 2014 commencement ceremonies, the NAU Athletics Department produced a total of 63 graduates for the 2014-15 academic year.

Women's Basketball Recruit Alyssa Rader Excels at U18 National Tournament
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Only a small percentage of athletes ever have the opportunity to train and compete at the U.S. Olympic Training Center, but count incoming Northern Arizona women's basketball freshman Alyssa Rader as one of them. Rader was one of four players on the Colorado Elite Blue team to recently compete in the 2015 USA Basketball 3x3 U18 National Tournament last weekend, playing head-to-head against some of the best prep players in the country for the chance to represent the Red, White & Blue on the international stage.

NAU Adds Two Division I Transfers, Top Prep Athlete for Next Season
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Before the Northern Arizona women’s basketball team prepares for the summer, head coach Sue Darling added three incoming Lumberjacks – Passionate Amukamara, Olivia Lucero and Kenna McDavis – to their growing stockpile of talent for the upcoming 2015-16 season. All three are in-state products with Amukamara coming out of Millennium High School while Lucero and McDavis will be returning to the state after two years apiece at Loyola Marymount and Boise State respectively.

Big Sky Basketball and Reno Announce Three-Year Championships Deal
OGDEN, Utah – The Big Sky Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships have a home in Reno, Nev., the league and the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority announced Friday. The deal is a three-year agreement.

Women's Basketball Trio Impresses at Final Four Pro Combine
TAMPA, Fla. – Three Northern Arizona women's basketball players showcased themselves in their pursuit of a professional career two weeks ago at the ProHoops Combine in Tampa held in conjunction with the NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four. Current seniors Raven Anderson and Erikka Banks as well as former Lumberjack Tyler Stephens-Jenkins took part in the invitation only combine which gave them an opportunity to be evaluated by WNBA coaches, foreign coaches and scouts.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – On Wednesday, NAU’s brightest student-athletes were honored at the 37th annual Golden Eagle Awards held at the High Country Conference Center. The annual luncheon recognizes Northern Arizona University’s student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average in the classroom. Golden Eagle Distributors, Inc., honored 191 Lumberjack student-athletes for their scholastic and athletic accomplishments.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The NAU Athletics Department, spearheaded by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), held its Student-Athlete for a Day on Tuesday for over 200 children throughout the northern Arizona region. The important Student-Athlete for a Day returned for the first time in three years and was a fun-filled day for both the Lumberjack student-athletes and the local youth.

Lumberjacks Fall to Eagles, 73-57, as Season Ends in Big Sky Tourney
MISSOULA, Mont. – The Northern Arizona women's basketball team trimmed a 22-point halftime deficit to as low as 14 in the second half, but ultimately saw their season come to an end in the Big Sky Quarterfinals at the hands of Eastern Washington, 73-57, Wednesday night. The fifth-seeded 'Jacks outscored the fourth-seeded Eagles by six after half and outshot EWU, but could not pull themselves all the way back, finishing the season with a 13-17 overall record.

Women's Basketball Senior Duo Receives All-Conference Honors
OGDEN, Utah – Seniors Erikka Banks and Raven Anderson have led the Northern Arizona women's basketball team all season, and on Tuesday they were rewarded with selections to the Big Sky All-Conference teams. In a vote conducted by the league's head coaches, Banks was named to the All-Big Sky Second Team while Anderson garnered honorable mention honors.

Women's Basketball Outshot by Sacramento State, 105-81
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Northern Arizona women's basketball team shot 63.2 percent from the field – the second highest field goal percentage in school history – but fell to Sacramento State in their regular season finale, 105-81, on Saturday. The Lumberjacks concluded the regular season with a 13-16 record, 9-9 in conference play heading into next week's Big Sky Championships.

Women's Basketball Falls to Northern Colorado, 88-67, on Senior Night
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona women's basketball team honored their two seniors Raven Anderson and Erikka Banks prior to the start of their final home game as Lumberjacks versus Northern Colorado. Then the Bears played the role of spoiler as they handed NAU an 88-67 loss in the Walkup Skydome on Saturday, ruining Senior Night. The Lumberjacks will head into the final week of the regular season with a 12-15 overall record and an even 8-8 Big Sky mark.

Women's Hoops Prevail in Double OT, 72-68, Against UND
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona women's basketball team dusted themselves off from a tough road trip and needed every second of a 50-minute ball game Thursday night to pull out a resounding 72-68 victory over North Dakota. The Lumberjacks inched closer to a potential Big Sky Tournament berth with the victory, hammering out their first ever double overtime victory in school history in the process. With the win, NAU improved to 12-14 overall and 8-7 in conference play.

CHENEY, Wash. – For the second time this road trip, the Northern Arizona women's basketball team was done in by a critical first half run, this time at the hands of second-place Eastern Washington on Saturday. The Lumberjacks fell to the Eagles, 73-42, despite 18 points from sophomore Rene Coggins and 16 points from senior Erikka Banks. The loss dropped NAU's record to 11-14 and 7-7 in the conference.

Women's Basketball Finishes Strong, Hands Weber State 56-52 Defeat
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Down four at halftime and as much as six in the second half, the Northern Arizona women's basketball team ended the game on an 8-2 run to gut out a 56-52 victory over Weber State. Sophomore Catelyn Preston's go-ahead bucket with 1:25 was the dagger as NAU was less than willing to show the Wildcats love on Valentine's Day, avenging an earlier loss to Weber State on the road last month.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Senior Raven Anderson scored 21 of her career-high 25 points in the second half, helping the Northern Arizona women's basketball team snap a seven-game losing streak to Idaho State with a 64-47 victory in the Skydome. Women's Basketball's Win Streak Halted at UND
GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Northern Arizona women's basketball team was unable to keep North Dakota, the second-highest scoring team in the Big Sky, in check on Saturday as their three-game win streak was snapped by the defending conference champs, 78-62. North Dakota shot 58.9 percent from the field, marking the first time an opponent has shot upwards of 50 percent against NAU this season, in the victory.

Women's Basketball Earns Road Win at Northern Colorado, 51-49
GREELEY, Colo. – After nine straight losses to Northern Colorado the Northern Arizona women's basketball team got the best of the Bears for the second straight year in Greeley. NAU held off a hard charging Bears squad to come out on the winning end of a 51-49 slugfest on Thursday, prevailing in the final seconds and as a result earned their elusive first road victory of the season. With the win, the 'Jacks moved over .500 in conference play to 5-4.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona women's basketball team fought back from an eight-point halftime deficit and muscled their way past Southern Utah in overtime for a 73-64 victory to even their Big Sky record to 4-4. The Lumberjacks, now 8-11 for the season, received a career-high 17 points from junior Mariah Willadsen and double-doubles from seniors Raven Anderson and Erikka Banks in NAU's second come-from-behind home win over Southern Utah in as many years.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – It was a day of season-bests in the Walkup Skydome for the Northern Arizona women's basketball team as it completed the first weekend of conference play with a decisive 94-46 victory over Portland State. The win marked NAU's first 2-0 start in Big Sky play in nearly a decade dating back to the 2005-06 season and just the third time in school history. The Lumberjacks are now 6-7 overall.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Facing the country's fifth highest scoring team, the Northern Arizona women's basketball extinguished Sacramento State's offensive fireworks on New Year's Day to pick up a 64-60 victory on Thursday to ring in 2015 on a high note. The win snapped a four-game losing streak to the Hornets and was NAU's first victory to open the conference season since the 2007-08 season. NAU also ended a four-game overall losing streak to improve to 5-7.

The Lumberjacks went scoreless for the final 9:44 of the first half and despite holding New Mexico to 32.7 percent from the field, they fell to 4-7 with a 56-37 loss to the Lobos.

The Lumberjacks shot 57.1 percent in the first half, but saw their field goal percentage drop to 34.6 percent in the final 20 minutes as they fell to 4-6 this season, suffering their third straight defeat.

The team and coaching staff spent the afternoon caroling and interacting with the residents in another experience that was memorable for both parties.

In front of a season-best crowd of 803 boosted by hundreds of local schoolchildren, the Lumberjacks' late effort was stymied by the Waves as they fell to 4-5 this season.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Nearly 200 Northern Arizona student-athletes helped greet the incoming NAU Class of 2018 over the last two days in partnership with Welcome Back Jacks. Where Are They Now: Julie Hanks
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – It is no question that Julie Hanks left her mark at NAU during her playing career. An NAU Hall of Famer, Hanks left as the program's all-time leading scorer in 1986 and is undoubtedly one of the most accomplished players in school history. Yet as exceptional as she was on the hardwood in the mid-1980s, Hanks remains as dedicated as ever to the game nearly 30 years later.
