SCHOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER

“No more pencil’s, no more books, no more teacher’s dirty looks . . . school’s out for summer.” It’s that time of year when students (and teachers) are belting out the classic Alice Cooper tune. The last day of final exams is tomorrow. Our returning players will turn in their books, pack up their stuff, and head home for two months. Our lone senior, Amanda Frost, will be honored along with all NAU graduating student-athletes at a special NAU Athletics event tomorrow evening. Amanda will don her cap and gown on Friday for her much anticipated college graduation. Amanda is the first in her family to earn a college degree. Well done! Very proud of them all!

LOUIE’S RECAP

NAU Athletics 1st Annual Louie’s was a huge success. NAU student-athletes, teams, and coaches were honored at an “ESPY-like” award show. Student-athletes dressed to impress, posed for photos on the Blue Carpet, and starred in their own music videos. It was a night to remember. Congratulations to all the night’s winners including our own Brittani Lusain who was honored as Female Newcomer of the Year.

NEXT SUE’S CORNER - AUGUST 27, 2014

Sue’s Corner is off for the summer as well. Look for the back-to-school edition on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. It will include all the coming’s and going’s of our summer break, summer workouts and summer school as well as updates on the coming season. Take care, be safe, and remember . . . every day is a great day to be a Lumberjack!

OUR WEEK IN PHOTOS

Last Saturday in Williams at Elephant Rocks Golf Course, NAU Athletics held its Lumberjack Golf Classic to raise money for student-athlete scholarships!
