Women’s Basketball Team Participates in Free Event with Fit Kids of Arizona
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona women’s basketball will take part in a free event for Fit Kids of Arizona on Thursday, October 14 at the Downtown Green House from 4-7 p.m. The team will assist in Fit Kids of Arizona’s mission to reduce the health consequences of childhood obsesity by promoting healthy lifestyles.
Thursday’s initiative will be an evening hosted by Fit Kids of Arizona where children and their families can learn about fashion, hair, hygiene, and personal accessories in order to foster a good sense of self. It will be a free event for adolescent students in middle and high school.
Snacks will be provided while kids search donated clothing racks, have their hair done, nails painted, and a quick facial for those interested.
“This is a great opportunity and event for our team and the Flagstaff community,” said head coach Laurie Kelly. “Fit Kids of Arizona sends a positive message promoting healthy lifestyles for children. The women’s basketball team strives to be role models in the community and a benefit like this is a great way for us to help out further that goal.”
Fit Kids of Arizona helps to prevent or reduce childhood obesity leading to a long, healthy, and happy life. The Fit Kids team is made up of medical, nutritional, fitness and behavioral experts who work on an individual basis to identify concerns and problem-areas, and then guide the participant and family members in setting goals for improvement.
