Patton Named Women's Basketball Big Sky Co-Player of the Week
OGDEN, Utah – Northern
Arizona women's basketball player Amy Patton was named Big Sky
Conference Co-Player of the Week for games played from January 4th
through the 10th, the conference announced on Monday. The freshman
guard from Tempe, Ariz., averaged 30.5 points and 10.5 rebounds
last week. Sacramento State’s Charday Hunt was named
Co-Player of the Week as well.
Patton exploded for 30 points and 11 rebounds in NAU’s 67-60
loss to Idaho State last Thursday. She was 11-of-22 from the field
while hitting 3-of-7 from three-point range and 5-of-6 from the
free-throw line to lead all scorers. Patton tied a game-high
with her 11 rebounds.
In a 63-62 win over Weber State, Patton hit a buzzer beating shot
to give the Lumberjacks their first conference victory of the
season and first road win this year. She shot 14-of-27 and hit
3-of-5 three-point field goals. Patton grabbed 10 rebounds for her
sixth double-double of the season. She also added in three assists
and two steals.
In all, Patton scored 61 points this weekend and turned in two of
the seven 30-point performances in the Big Sky this year.
Patton leads the Big Sky Conference with six double-doubles, six
games with 10 rebounds or more, and is second with five games with
20 points or more. As of last week, she was first in the conference
in rebounding with 7.6 per game and first in the conference in
scoring at 17.6 points-per-game and
