    OGDEN, Utah – The Big Sky Conference office announced Wednesday afternoon that Northern Arizona University Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Mike Smith was named the 2017 Women’s “Coach of the Year” for his leadership during the team’s run at their 10th outdoor title in school history over the weekend.
  • NAU Sweeps Big Sky All-Sports Awards for Fourth Time in School History

    OGDEN, Utah – For the second time in four years, and the fourth time in school history, the Northern Arizona University Athletics Department swept the Big Sky Men's and Women's All-Sports Trophies, announced by the conference office on Monday. The Lumberjacks won a total of seven Big Sky Conference championships during the 2016-17 academic year and also received strong performances from several other programs.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Northern Arizona University women’s track & field team captured its second consecutive Big Sky outdoor title Saturday afternoon, as it threw, leaped and ran its way to victory at Hornet Stadium. For the Lumberjack men, Adam Keenan was named the Big Sky’s “Male Most Valuable Performer” for his stellar achievements in the field events.
  • NAU Graduates 44 Student-Athletes During Spring Commencement Ceremonies

    FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Among the nearly 5,000 Northern Arizona University graduates this weekend will be 44 Lumberjack student-athletes, who will receive their diplomas during the commencement ceremonies Friday and Saturday in the Walkup Skydome. Along with the 17 fall semester graduates, NAU Athletics will graduate 61 total student-athletes this academic year.

The last four instances, the Northern Arizona University track and field teams have done just that, with both squads sweeping outdoor conference in 2016 and, most recently, hoisting both indoor championship trophies in Pocatello, Idaho, this past February.

    FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Senior distance runner Futsum Zienasellassie and sophomore diver Tanya Kurach were among the big winners at Monday night's Fourth Annual Louie's Awards hosted by the Northern Arizona Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Zienasellassie and Kurach were named the Male and Female Athletes of the Year respectively at the end-of-year awards show at NAU's Prochnow Auditorium.

A total of 190 student-athletes across all 15 of NAU’s athletic programs were honored at the High Country Conference Center.
