FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Big Sky regular season conference champions, the Northern Arizona University men's tennis program is ranked 9th in the ITA Division I Mountain Regional rankings released June 7. The rankings come in addition to several accolades already decorating the successful 2017 season.

"The men worked extremely hard throughout the season, and I'm extremely proud of them," Director of Tennis Ki Kroll said. "It is great to see that all of their hard work is being recognized."

In addition, MVP Tim Handel and sophomore Ruben Montano are ranked 4th in doubles while Handel remains the only Lumberjack ranked in singles at 15th in the region.

Handel went 17-6 overall at the No. 1 position and led the Lumberjacks with an undefeated 11-0 conference record. While Montano went 14-7 overall and 9-2 in the Big Sky. The sophomores paired at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, ending with a perfect 14-0 record.

"Both Tim and Ruben had amazing seasons, going undefeated," said Kroll. "I'm excited to see what they will bring in the fall and next season."
