Men's Tennis Gets Two Wins from Bermudez in 6-1 Loss to Weber State

OGDEN, Utah – The Northern Arizona men's tennis team dropped their third consecutive match on Saturday, falling 6-1 to Weber State at the Ogden Athletic Club. Sophomore Dominic Bermudez won both his singles and doubles matches, but could not prevent the Lumberjacks from dropping their first conference match of the season. NAU is now 1-1 in the conference and 2-5 overall.

"It was a tough loss for us today," said director of tennis Kim Bruno. "I was expecting a victory and they just outcompeted us today. We have to respond tomorrow."

Bermudez and senior Robin Pezzutto claimed a doubles win at No. 2 for NAU, but the Wildcats took the other two doubles matches to take the doubles point.

The Wildcats would go on to win five of the singles matches for the victory. Bermudez earned the Lumberjacks' only singles win of the day, defeating Oliver Good, 4-6, 6-4, 10-4 at No. 2 for his his third win of the season.

The Lumberjacks aim to bounce back with another Big Sky match on Sunday at Idaho State with play to begin at 10 a.m.
