Men’s Tennis Improves on Second Day of Tournament at UNLV

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Northern Arizona recorded a pair of consolation singles victories and won a consolation doubles match to advance to the finals of each back draw on the second day of the Larry Easley Memorial Classic hosted by UNLV.

In a Flight One singles consolation match, NAU sophomore Patrick Schimmelbauer defeated his teammate David Flodberg, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. A pair of Lumberjacks would meet in a Flight Two singles match as well, with junior Ben Lantz topping freshman Dominic Bermudez, 6-2, 6-3. Schimmelbauer and sophomore Hugo Ramadier claimed an 8-5 doubles victory over teammates Bermudez and Lantz.

Each back draw final on Sunday will have Lumberjack players, who will not have to face their own teammates again. Action on Sunday resumes at 9 a.m. to close out the tournament and the Fall season for Northern Arizona.
