Men’s Tennis Concludes Play at ITA Regional in Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Freshman Patrick Schimmelbauer and sophomore Andrew Reiff lost consolation singles matches Friday and NAU also lost a consolation doubles match to conlclude play at the Wilson/ITA Division-I Men’s Mountain Regional in Las Vegas.

Playing in the third round of consolation singles, Reiff dropped a 7-5, 6-3 decision to Jim Brouleau of New Mexico State. Schimmelbauer took on Matej Stakne, also of New Mexico State, and took a 6-3, 7-6 defeat.

Reiff and sophomore Robin Pezzutto were scheduled to play a consolation doubles match as well on Friday but had to withdraw due to an illness. They were the remaining doubles pair alive for the Lumberjacks in the competition.

Northern Arizona will return to Las Vegas next week to close its fall season, competing in the Rebel Classic October 30-November 1 at UNLV.
