Bad Weather Cancels Men's and Women's Tennis in Las Cruces
LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Heavy rain and wind in Las Cruces has
canceled all tennis matches scheduled at New Mexico State this
morning, including Northern Arizona’s scheduled women’s
match against New Mexico State and the Lumberjack men’s
neutral-site match against Idaho. Both teams return to Flagstaff
after playing road matches Thursday-Saturday.
The NAU men finish the weekend at 1-2, posting a win over Texas-Pan
American while dropping matches to Texas-Arlington and No. 59 New
Mexico State. The Lumberjack women recorded a 2-1 mark over the
challenging weekend, with wins over Western New Mexico and
Texas-Pan American and a loss to UTEP. The men return home with a
7-4 season record while the women now stand at 6-3.
Both teams will be in action at home next weekend. The women host a
Big Sky match against Montana on Friday at 10 a.m. and the men will
face Scottsdale Community College next Sunday, March 7, at 1 p.m.
with both matches to be played at Flagstaff Athletic Club East.
