    2016-17 NAU Men’s Basketball Wrap-Up FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Head Coach Jack Murphy and the Northern Arizona men’s basketball team wrapped up the 2016-17 season. The Lumberjacks improved on their record from the year prior with four more wins and finished their season in the first round of the Big Sky Tournament. NAU closed out the season with an overall record of 9-23 and a conference record of 6-12.

    Men’s Hoops Ends Season with 80-67 Loss to Portland State in Big Sky Tournament RENO, Nev. – Northern Arizona led by one point with 7:24 to go in Reno. From there, Portland State pressed the Lumberjacks and forced turnovers in the final minutes to top NAU, 80-67 in the first round of the Big Sky Tournament being held at the Reno Events Center.

    Seniors Shine on Senior Day; Take Down Eastern Washington, 76-61 FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona’s seniors came out the gates shining this afternoon. The Lumberjacks were ready to lay it all on the line and they did so by taking care of business and beating second-place Eastern Washington, 76-61 in the Walkup Skydome.

    Lumberjacks Nearly Complete Comeback, Fall to Idaho 77-75 FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona men’s basketball team took Idaho down to the wire and nearly completed the 25-point come-from-behind victory. The Lumberjacks had a chance to win it at the buzzer, but a very long 3-point attempt by Kye de Laveaga was blocked by the Vandals, and Idaho escaped with the 77-75 victory.

Both games will take place at the Walkup Skydome to close out regular season play before the Big Sky Tournament starts next week in Reno, Nev.

    Idaho State Steals 91-90 Win in Overtime Against Northern Arizona POCATELLO, Idaho – Northern Arizona led by as many as 20 points in the second half. Idaho State fought back late in the second period to force overtime and come away with the 91-90 win at Reed Gym. Senior forward Jordyn Martin started the game 5-for-5 from the field to finish with 21 points and 10 rebounds, as Northern Arizona (6-17, 3-7 BSC) fell to Idaho State (4-17, 2-7 BSC).
