FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – There will be a pair of former Northern Arizona players playing in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas this week, as Steve Sir and Quinton Upshur will both be participating. Sir is on the Milwaukee Bucks roster, while Upshur will be playing for the Toronto Raptors.
The 11-day showcase of top young NBA talent will run from Friday, July 8 through Monday, July 18 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas. ESPN will present all 67 games from Las Vegas across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPNU and WatchESPN.
Sir competed for the Lumberjacks from 2004-07. It's no wonder he's the NCAA's all-time leader in three-point shooting accuracy, he registered 276 made three-pointers for NAU, shooting 48.3 percent during his career. Sir has played professionally all across the world for the last nine years from Romania to Switzerland to Germany to name a few.
Upshur just completed his first season playing overseas in Portugal. A member of the 2015 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament Runner-Up squad, Upshur scored 1,040 points in two seasons with NAU to rank in the Top 10 in the school's season record books for points scored and made three-pointers.
