NASSAU, Bahamas – The Northern Arizona men's basketball team came away with a pair of victories at the Summer of Thunder tournament in the Bahamas. The Lumberjacks latest victory came on Thursday night when they defeated IBA Elite 78-55.
"It was a great trip for our team," said head coach Jack Murphy. "The time spent together over these last few weeks has been very beneficial. I am excited about our team and the direction we are heading. This trip just helped solidify what we already knew."
Freshman guard Tate de Laveaga led the way with 16 points on 7-for-12 shooting. He added four asissts and a pair of steals. Sophomore Ako Kaluna registered 11 points with a perfect 5-for-5 performance from the floor, in addition to six rebounds.
NAU had 40 points off the bench, and out-rebounded IBA Elite 58 to 27.
