FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona men's basketball team will play three games this week in the Fresno State Classic in Fresno, Calif. The Lumberjacks will open up with Cal State Bakersfield on Friday at 5:30 p.m., followed by a 5:30 p.m. matchup versus Drake on Saturday. NAU will close out the tournament against host Fresno State on Sunday at 3 p.m.
The Lumberjacks are coming off an 83-59 win over San Diego Christian where five players scored in double figures in the home opener. NAU has three players that are averaging double figures. Senior Max Jacobsen leads the way with 18.2 points, while junior transfers Quinton Upshur and Aaseem Dixon are averaging 16.6 and 12.6 points per game, respectively.
Friday will be the seventh meeting between NAU and Cal State Bakersfield. The Roadrunners are 4-1 so far this season after defeating UC Merced, Sacramento State, Nevada and Idaho State. Matt Ratto is the leading scorer for Cal State Bakersfield with an average of 15.0 points per game.
Saturday will be the first meeting between NAU and Drake. The Bulldogs are 3-1 this season with wins over Illinois-Chicago, Iowa Wesleyan and Omaha. Richard Carter leads Drake with an average of 23.3 points per game.
Sunday will be the sixth meeting between NAU and Fresno State. The Bulldogs are 4-2 with wins over UC Irvine, Cal State Northridge, Cal Poly and San Diego Christian. Fresno State is led by Marvelle Harris who is averaging 15.8 points per game.

• Head coach Jack Murphy is in his second season at the helm of the men's basketball team.
• Max Jacobsen is the lone senior on the Lumberjack roster. He leads NAU in scoring after four games with an average of 18.2 points per game.
• Both Jacobsen and Quinton Upshur are the only two players that have scored in double figures in every game this season.
• The Lumberjacks were picked to finish seventh in the Big Sky Conference by the media and ninth by the league coaches.
