Murphy Adds Junior College Center Len Springs

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Len Springs, a 6-10 center from Los Angeles Trade Technical College, has signed to attend Northern Arizona University and play basketball this fall, Head Coach Jack Murphy announced Friday.

"Len is an exciting athlete and a fantastic young man that has done a good job academically," said Murphy. "He has really been successful since his prep career at Dorsey High School. He started for Trade Tech and was one of the leading shot blockers in the state of California. I am excited to see what he can bring to our program this year and in the future on and off the court. I am sure he will be a fan favorite."

Springs, who will be a junior, averaged six points, 11 rebounds and three blocks last season for Coach Richard Wells. He played his freshman season at El Camino College after a standout career at Susan Miller Dorsey High School where he scored seven points per game and grabbed 13 rebounds per contest under the direction of Kevin Gibson.

Springs is the sixth player to sign with Murphy for the upcoming 2012-13 season.
