FRANCE – Former Lumberjack basketball player Dan McClintock has signed with AS Monaco Basket in France to extend his professional career for a 13th season.
McClintock was playing with the Arizona Scorpions in the ABA. In 2011-12, he averaged 12.4 points per game, 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks for MBC Mykolaiv in the Superleague. He played with Azovmash in 2010-11 in the Ukraine.
McClintock, 36, was voted Eurobasket.com All-Ukrainian Superleague Center of the Year back in 2010. He has played also professionally in China, Germany (EWE Baskets), Italy (Biancoblu Basket Bologna), Latvia (Ventspils) and France (Gravelines-Dunkerque and Sluc Nancy).
McClintock, who was inducted into the NAU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012, helped NAU to two NCAA Tournament appearances in school history, blossoming into one of the top centers in the nation as a senior. He finished his career as the No. 3 scorer in NAU history (1,363 points), behind only Ross Land and Andy Hurd at the time. He was the NAU career leader and ranked third in the Big Sky with 196 blocks while finishing as the school's career leader in field-goal percentage (.632). He was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 2000 NBA Draft.
