FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The Northern Arizona men's basketball team will host Idaho State in the final Big Sky Conference home game of the season for "I Love the 80's Night".
All fans coming to the game can enjoy a two-for-one ticket offer if they wear their best 80's neon colors. Idaho State is one of three teams tied for third at 6-6 in the Big Sky Conference. The Bengals are coming off a 67-54 loss to Portland State in Pocatello on Thursday night. ISU is 8-16 overall entering tonight's game. Chase Grabau is leading the team in scoring at 13.3 points per game but suffered a concussion against Montana and is out for the game.
"We need to stay focused for the whole game and play with intensity," said senior Durrell Norman. "We need to cut down on our turnovers and easy baskets. Those will be the keys to a successful game for us."
NAU trails in the all-time series with the Bengals 49-40 after Idaho State won the first meeting in Pocatello this season. The Lumberjacks own a 27-15 advantage in Flagstaff, including a 70-53 victory last season.
The game can be heard on the Lumberjack Radio Network on 105.1 FM The Big Talker in Flagstaff, Prescott and Sedona and online via The Big Talker website and their free Big Talker mobile app for Androids, Blackberries, iPhones and iPads. It will also be available online via Big Sky TV and NAU TV.
It is also being televised by NAU TV locally in Flagstaff. Fox College Sports (2/13 @ 8 p.m.) and Fox Sports Arizona (2/14 @ 3 p.m.) will both show the game on a delayed basis.
GAME NOTES: Lumberjacks have dropped their last 12 conference games and have not won since Dec. 29 against Sacramento State (44 days)...It is the first 12-game losing streak since 1988-89 (15 games) and first 12-game conference losing streak since the 1988-89 season (14 games)...NAU lost 15 straight in 1988-89 overall to end the season...Ephraim Ekanem did not have a rebound Thursday for the first time this season...Gaellan Bewernick has recorded back-to-back games with 10 boards...Junior Michael Dunn tied his career-high with nine boards against Weber State and has averaged 7.5 boards per game over the last four contests...James Douglas had his streak of double-digit scoring snapped at eight Thursday...Junior Stallon Sladivar is now fifth on career assist list with 354 in school history...Saldivar had started 27 consecutive games before coming off the bench against the Wildcats.
