Forty-Eight Student-Athletes to Participate in Graduation Ceremonies
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Forty-eight Northern Arizona University student-athletes are participating in spring commencement ceremonies on the NAU campus this weekend and will be commissioned degrees as part of the Class of 2012. It is the second largest graduating class in athletics department history, trailing only the 55 graduates from last spring.

NAU Student-Athletes Earn 40 Winter Big Sky All-Academic Honors
OGDEN, Utah – The NAU men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams have combined to earn 41 Big Sky All-Academic selections for the winter season. The Lumberjack student-athletes have combined for 90 Big Sky All-Academic honors this year after 49 student-athletes earned the award during the fall season.

Men's Basketball Struggles in Second Half, Falls to San Francisco, 69-50
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Despite being down just two points at halftime, the Northern Arizona men's basketball team suffered its second consecutive loss to open the season on day two of the 2011 Hilltop Challenge, 69-50 at the hands of the host school San Francisco. The Lumberjacks shot just 24.1 percent from the field compared to the Dons' 47.8 percent and committed 18 fouls resulting in 24 USF free throw attempts in the deciding second half.

Men’s Basketball Opens Hilltop Challenge against Louisiana
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Northern Arizona men’s basketball team will open the 2011-12 season with a three-game weekend tournament hosted by the University of San Francisco. The Lumberjacks open the Hilltop Challenge with the University of Louisiana (formerly Louisiana-Lafayette) Friday night at 9:30 p.m. Mountain time before facing host San Francisco Saturday and North Dakota State on Sunday.

Men’s Basketball Drops Season Opener to Louisiana, 83-66
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Freshman James Douglas scored a game-high 21 points in his collegiate debut, but Louisiana shot 63% for the game and scored 46 points in the paint to record an 83-66 win on the opening day of the 2011 Hilltop Challenge in San Francisco. Junior Michael Dunn and freshman Ephraim Ekanem also score in double-digits for the Lumberjacks, who outrebounded the Rajin Cajuns 36-30.
