Men’s Basketball Player DeAngelo Jones Claims Big Sky Honor

OGDEN, Utah - Northern Arizona’s DeAngelo Jones has been selected as the Big Sky Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week for games played between Tuesday, Nov. 24 and Sunday, Nov. 29.

Jones, a 6-foot-5, junior forward from Seattle, Wash., scored a career-high 28 points with six rebounds an assist and a steal in the Lumberjacks’ 88-72 road victory over Santa Clara on Wednesday. Jones played 24 minutes, hitting 9-of-13 from the field and 7-of-9 from the free-throw line. He made 3-of-5 from 3-point range.

Jones scored 10 points with three rebounds and a steal in Northern Arizona’s loss at San Diego State on Saturday.

For the week, Jones averaged 19 points and 4.5 rebounds per game and shot .524 percent from the floor and .867 from the free-throw line.

This is the first Player of the Week Honor for Jones.
