Former Lumberjack Josh Wilson Leads German Team Ehingen to 7-2 Start
GERMANY - After the first 9 games
of the season, Erdgas Ehingen is 7-2 and in third place out of 16
teams. Josh Wilson, the 2009 Northern Arizona University team
captain and graduate, is averaging 16.6 points (top 15 in league),
4.9 assists (top 5 in league), and 1.7 steals (top 15 in league)
per game.
“Josh does a great job being the leader for our team,”
said Coach Ralph Junge. “He established himself as one of the
best guards in the league. It is a pleasure to have a player with
the personality of Josh on the team.”
Team official Nico Drmota said, “Josh is adjusting well to
the European style of basketball. He will play in Europe for years
to come.”
Wilson, who hails from Longview, Wash., finished his career as the
school record holder in assists (636) and minutes played (3,202).
He became the 24th member of the 1,000-point club at NAU and was
the only player in Division I to rank among the top 40 in assists
per game each season from 2005-08.
Wilson is represented by Epic
Management Group.
He is one of 12 former NAU players who are playing professionally.
