FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona rookies Joe Logan and Griffin Roehler were named to the HERO Sports FCS All-Freshman team, the organization announced. Both Logan and Roehler were named honorable mention.
Logan, a native of Buckeye, Ariz., was a dominant rusher for the NAU offense. He led NAU with 726 rushing yards on 115 carries. He scored five touchdowns as a freshman. On his first-ever collegiate carry when he ran the ball for 37 yards and the score. He followed it up with a career-long 72-yard touchdown run on his second carry. Logan finished with three 100-yard rushing games and led the Big Sky in yards per carry at 6.3
This is Roehler's second All-America honor, as he was named to the College Sports Madness All-American Third Team at the conclusion of the season. Roehler, a native of Litchfield Park, Ariz. and an All-Big Sky First Team placekicker, made 13 of 16 field goal attempts, including a season-long of 40 yards. He led NAU in scoring with 83 points and had 68 kickoffs for an average of 61.7 yards per kick with 26 resulting in a touchback.
