Case Cookus threw for seven touchdowns in a single game for the second straight season. He completed 14 of 25 passes for 296 passing yards. For every two complete passes, they resulted in a touchdown. It is the most passing touchdowns by any player in the FCS or FBS this season. He's the only quarterback (FBS and FCS) to throw seven touchdowns in a game back-to-back seasons.

Emmanuel Butler caught a career-high five touchdown passes (all from Cookus) to tie the NAU single game record. Butler's previous high was four touchdown receptions set back on Oct. 31 versus Northern Colorado. Butler's touchdown receptions were 13-3-13-51-4 yards each. It is the most touchdown receptions by any player in the FCS or FBS this season.

• True freshman Joe Logan scored a 37-yard touchdown on his first-ever collegiate rushing attempt. On his second rushing attempt, he broke free for a 72-yard touchdown. He finished with 172 yards on nine rushing attempts.

Elijah Marks registered 143 receiving yards on five receptions. He scored a 15-yard touchdown to start the game, and then added a 43-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

William Morehand had four punt returns for 149 yards. He recorded returns of 16-51-52-30 yards. His 52-yard return in the third quarter gave NAU the ball at the NMHU four-yard line. Morehand's other return gave NAU possession at the NMHU 16-19-37 yard lines.

• True freshman Griffin Roehler kicked off 12 times for 749 yards. Seven went for touchbacks, while averaging 62.4 yards per kick. He connected on all 10 of NAU's point after attempts, in addition to hitting a 36-yard field goal.

• All of NAU's scoring drives took less than 2:13 to complete. Nine scores took under two minutes, while seven took under one minute, and four took less than 13 seconds.

• NAU scored 73 points versus N.M. Highlands. It was the most since 2012, when the Lumberjacks posted a 69-0 shutout of Fort Lewis. NAU hadn't scored over 70 points in a game since Aug. 29, 1996 in a 75-0 shutout of Western New Mexico.

• The Lumberjacks were one field goal short of breaking the Walkup Skydome record (75) and one touchdown shy of the school record (80).  It's the fifth-most points scored in a game by an FCS team this season.
