FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona football team scrimmaged this morning in the Walkup Skydome. The difference in today's scrimmage was the addition of conference officials to educate the players on some of the latest implemented rules.
Both the offense and the defense managed to make big plays with neither team wanting to give the other an edge. A few miscues and tipped balls led to interceptions for the defense, while the offense pushed the ball up the field with a mixture of a pass and run game.
"It was nice to have the officials out here today to officiate our scrimmage," said head coach Jerome Souers. "Next week will be the Spring Game, so I encourage everyone to come out and watch us."
The Lumberjacks' Spring Game will be held next Saturday, April 23 at 2 p.m. at Lumberjack Stadium. Admission is free to the public and gates open one hour before kickoff. Make sure to arrive early for your first chance to get your hands on the 2016 NAU Football schedule poster.
