Jahn Named NFF Valley of the Sun FCS College Scholar-Athlete of the Year

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona football senior running back Casey Jahn has been named the National Football Foundation Valley of the Sun 2016 FCS College Scholar Athlete of the Year. Jahn, along with the other college honorees and 36 of the top high school football-student athletes from northern and central Arizona, will be honored at the Chapter's 35th Annual Awards Banquet. The event will take place Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the Hilton Scottsdale Resort.

Jahn, a native of Phoenix, was a two-year starter and captain for the Lumberjacks. In 2015, he picked up First Team All-Big Sky honors and received the team's Offensive Most Inspirational Player of the Year award. Jahn finished his Lumberjack career sixth in all-time rushing yards and carries, and 12th in all-purpose yards.

Jahn is working on his bachelor's degree in public health, and plans to pursue a graduate degree in health service administration. Off the field, Jahn has accumulated over 59 hours of community service during his time at NAU.

Senior quarterback Kyren Poe and senior tight end R.J. Rickert received honorable mention accolades by certificate from the NFF.
