WACO, Texas – Northern Arizona senior Ryan Hawkins was named to the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) FCS All-America Team, the organization announced today.
Hawkins was named to the team as a punter, after ranking amongst the best in the nation all season long. The Arizona native had picked up punting duties during his junior campaign at NAU, as it turned out to be a good thing for the Lumberjacks over the last two seasons.
Hawkins has picked up numerous All-America and All-Conference honors this season to round out his time as a Lumberjack. In 2015, Hawkins led the nation in yards per punt at 46.3 on a total of 52 boots. He registered a total of 2,406 punting yards to help NAU rank first in the nation in net punting at 40.4.
Hawkins has also been named to the Associated Press, STATS FCS and College Sports Madness All-America lists.
