10 ‘Jacks Recognized on USA College Football FCS Preseason All-America Teams
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – A total of 10 Northern Arizona players have been recognized by USA College Football as Preseason All-America picks, released today by the organization. Leading the way for the Lumberjacks are first team members, fullback Nick Butier, offensive lineman Leroy Guenther and cornerback Marcus Alford.

The 26th Annual USA College Football FCS Preseason All-Americans are presented by American Football Networks. With 12,297 student-athletes competing on the gridiron for 122 programs, USA College Football recognizes just the top four percent of the returning players.

Butier played in all 12 games for NAU with 10 starts. He finished the season with 17 catches for 181 yards and 29 rushing yards.

Guenther appeared in 10 games for NAU in 2015 making nine starts.

Alford led the Big Sky in passes defended the majority of the season and ranked in the top 10 in the nation in the category. He also tied for the most interceptions on the team with three, in addition to recording 27 tackles.

Wide receiver Alex Holmes, running back Casey Jahn, offensive lineman Eric Rodriguez, defensive lineman Siupeli Anau, defensive back Darius Lewis, defensive lineman Deon Young and kicker/punter Ryan Hawkins all received honorable mention honors.

The Lumberjacks report for fall camp in August with their first game scheduled for Sept. 5 on the road at Stephen F. Austin. NAU's first home game is set for Sept. 12 versus New Mexico Highlands.
