CHICAGO, Ill. – Former Lumberjack Ify Umodu signed a three-year contract with the NFL franchise the Chicago Bears. Umodu was a four-year letterwinner for Northern Arizona during his time in Flagstaff.
"When I got the call from the Bears to join their organization I immediately thought back to all of the people that helped me get where I'm at," said Umodu. "I couldn't be more grateful for the support over the years that helped grant me this opportunity."
Umodu completed his senior season with 1,883 career receiving yards chart to rank 11th and was named the team's Offensive Most Valuable Player. He tied for a team-high five touchdowns in 2014 and led NAU with 691 receiving yards on 47 catches.
Umodu is the second Lumberjack to sign this offseason. Tight end Beau Gardner signed with the Atlanta Falcons earlier this spring.
