FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona football summer camp schedule kicks off on Saturday, June 6 with the Northern Arizona High Mountain Challenge and they are inviting the Flagstaff community out for the 32-team tournament. The bracket-styled tournament will start at 9 a.m. on the football practice fields located across San Francisco Street from the Walkup Skydome and will run until approximately 5:30 p.m.
Represented in the tournament are elite high school teams from 15 states in what is sure to be a highly competitive atmosphere at 7,000 feet. Local football fans can get a free look at top prep talent as the High Mountain Challenge is open to the public.
Following Saturday's action, the tournament's winner will be crowned on Sunday, June 7, with action slated for 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
With teams coming from all over the country, the NAU football team encourages all fans to attend and give the participating teams a strong Lumberjack welcome.
If fans are unable to attend this weekend, the High Mountain Challenge continues next weekend, June 13-14, with an even bigger field of teams upwards of 50 squads coming to Flagstaff with their eye on the ultimate prize.
