FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona head coach Jerome Souers has announced the addition of Cha'pelle Brown to his coaching staff. Brown will be responsible for the cornerbacks.
"We're thrilled to add another great coach to our staff," Souers said. "Cha'pelle was an outstanding player at a high level and has developed into a great coach. He's a got a world of knowledge that will help our group of cornerbacks develop into the players we all know they're capable of being. Our hope is to always hire individuals that have a high level of knowledge, but also a high level of integrity and character. We've definitely done that with Cha'pelle and we're excited to announce his addition to our staff."
Brown comes to NAU after a two-year stint with the national runner-up University of Oregon football program. While with the Ducks, Brown served as the on-field defensive graduate assistant and helped coach Ifo Ekpre-Olomu to First Team All-America honors.
Prior to Oregon, Brown served two years on the University of Colorado staff as a graduate assistant working directly with the defensive backs on a daily basis.
Brown was a four-year letterwinner at Colorado where he was a three-year starter. The defensive back was named team MVP and an All-Big 12 Second Team honoree in 2009.
Brown graduated from Colorado with a degree in sociology.
