Former Lumberjacks Shine on Pro Day

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – There were approximately 10 NFL scouts on the Northern Arizona University campus Wednesday morning for pro day. The former Lumberjack players went through various testing drills during the three-hour workout in Flagstaff.

Several members of the 2013 Lumberjack senior class participated in today's workouts, including All-Americans Zach Bauman and Anders Battle. Bauman leaves NAU as the team's all-time leading rusher and is one of nine players in FCS history to rush for 1,000 yards four times. Battle, a two-time Big Sky All-Conference first team pick, was another added delight to today's workouts.

Bauman performed well today for the scouts after having an incredible senior campaign. He was clocked at 4.5 in the 40 yard dash, while some scouts had him with a time of 4.4.

Defensive lineman Tim Wilkinson shined for the scouts this afternoon, as he had an all-around good day. He continued to impress the scouts as the day went on, putting on a good show for those in attendance.

Both punter/kicker Andy Wilder and wide receiver Jesse Brantley looked impressive during their individual workouts this afternoon. Brantley also recorded a 36-inch vertical leap.

NAU's top NFL draftee was wide receiver Shawn Collins, who was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round of the 1989 NFL Draft. The Lumberjacks last draftee was Paul Ernster, who was drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2005. Last year, Jarret Bilbrey, Trey Gilleo and Devin Willis were all invited to NFL training camps.
